Had the transaxle leak repaired 6000 miles ago and it's back! Does anyone remember the GM part number for the most current seal kit? My dealer obviously did not have the most up to date kit.
I don't know the part number sorry!!
I was wondering how many miles you had on it when it frist leaked?
I have a 04 CE with 3400 miles on it, have not seen sign of leak.

Mine is an '04 also and began leaking at about 3000 miles.
If it is coming from the side cover forget about the updated seal, the 2003-04 came from the factory with the updated seals. The defect is in the machining of the side cover. The trick is to reseal the cover with a new seal and add a thin bead of silicone, and most importantly, let it cure overnight before adding fluid.I have resealed no less than 50 side covers

Thanks.....that looks like an overnight at the dealership!!
My 2003 MN6 goes in next Monday for the fourth time. 21,876 miles. It is my daily driver. It does fine after a new seal around town, but when I go on the road at highway speeds, then the leaks start again. I havew check the pop-off valve on top of the rear end, I have checked the fluid level, all are fine. I fail to see why GM can not come up with a fix. This has been happening since 1999. A Vette is a top line car. Come on GM change venders and get this fixed. I am still under warrenty so no cost to me. It is just a pain to have to take it in, and a pain to admit that my Vette is in the shop again. The ford and foreign guys give me all sort of grief over the number of times in the shop. My wifes Lexus, 106,356, 1997, never a problem in 8 years.
It is all about $$$...It is more cost effective for GM to simply pay a tech 1.7 warranty labor hours + the cost of a couple seals to fix the leak, rather then reinvent the wheel...After 1 repair attempt by the dealer GM is off the hook. The dealer eats the 2nd and 3rd repair attempt
