I looked into it a while back .. only thing I remember is ... that kind of stuff affects your warranty .. kinda like auto-start. But I guess if you're out of warranty it'd be cool!

How is that? I have remote starts on all my cars and never had a warranty problem

I've called just about every brand car dealer and asked them about remote start voiding warranty, it does not.

A local installer told me a while back.
He does it for a living .. had no reason to doubt him ... but I do now.
I'm gonna gpo yap at him ... be back with his answer. Thanks for the heads up CCMC5!
EDIT::::
The installer will be in tomorrow. Apparently, according to his boss, there was some info about installing in an M6 vs. A4. The A4 supposedly does not void, but since they have to by-pass the clutch or something like that in an M6 "it may void it."
I'll get the info nailed down tomorrow.
Just bugs me when I get bogus info.

Hey MVD, they do actually make specific remote starts now for manual trannys. That used to be a major no, no. But it can me done with any remote start device. You would just have to rig up some sort of safety switch. My previous post about not voiding warranty was for autos. Sorry, I'm really not sure about warranty issues on a stick... Let us know what you find out as I'm sure it would be the same case for the push-start.
