What do you want to do with it? Drag, AutoX, show only???
should have stated the goals...
Street car, driven on nice days... However I am one to sacrifice almost all "drivability" for performance...so keep that in mind please. Top end more important to me than low end toque (Already have beast for that in a differnt car or i mean truck )
For 6k, get the H/C, Kooks, exhaust and underpully from 21st Century. Very reasonable porice for nice performance enhancement, and it is VERY reliable and driveable.
With the other $$$, go for bling stuff.

Heads and cam, nos, headers, UD pulley, 3.5 in exhasut, Hurricane intake, LPE throtle body, buncha chrome under the hood, Tigershark front and rear frashia as well as exausht tips, ripper shifter, tubbed, slammed to the ground, window tint, 3:90 gears, LS1 edit, non-runflats,Sportbrake rotors, Zo6 shocks and sways, and some cool, cool wheels. All work done and guarranteed by 21st Cent MC...
I think that will spend all that hard earned cash!

Injection is nice, but I like to be Blown. Install a Procharger! Easier to install than H/C/ or a Turbo set-up. Plus if you get rid of the vette for another, you can take it off and put it on the next car and put yours back to stock. And even better if you build a low compression Forged short block so you can run more boost. Approx 16 psi should get you 2 HP per cubic inch on gasoline.
I would also recommend a nice head/cam package. If you speak to a good tuner, they will help you pick a cam that meets your driving requirements.
Now, if you think you'll have more $$$ next year, I'd say hold off and look into a 427 or a twin turbo setup. You're almost there with 15k available. Maybe add a catback exhaust, aftermarket shifter, and/or some wheels to satisfy the mod urge now.
good stuff guys...opinions really very, but thats why i asked. More ideas the better.
Personally i'd like a forged motor but i need to do some research on what i can afford. My $$ in the future is possible, but i'd rather do wheels, tires, etc. then rather than first.
i need to keep in mind clutch, tranny, and rearend as well.
what motor can be build for 10 if i said i'll save 5 for the tranny, rearend, clutch and misc.?
also what about the idea of building a low comp. motor with the intent of FI of some sort in the future. Is that a bogus idea?

i believe it was XCELER8 that just had his motor rebuilt w/ forged internals for ~ the 3k mark .. then slap a s/c on top and you're up to 8 for basically a new engine.
and as far as a low compression motor .. if you know for a fact you will be adding the power added .. then go for it .. honestly thought I dont know how long I'd drive around with the boost ... correct me if i'm wrong, Low Compression = Low power.
