Back in the (C5) Saddle Again...
What a trip.
Finally made it back home after 6 days in 2 different rentals. The first, a brand new (!) Ford Taurus, limped into Elk Grove just outside of Sacramento 2 days ago with a bad transmission. I didn't think I drove it that hard... Guess those insane LA freeways (80 mph or you'll get run over...) and those mountain passes were too much for it...not to mention those 100 degree temps in the Cent. California valley. Switched over to a Dodge Stratus for the remainder of the journey home.
2nd thing I did after getting home was to take the Vette out for a drive. Ahhhh, much better. Now THAT'S what I call an automobile.

Yeah, Elk Grove is just a stones throw from me. You could have got a quick fix of the Vette withdrawals with a spin in the Predator. The twisty back country Delta roads were meant for the Vette.
