Chevron Supreme VS. Shell V-Power. Which is better?
I'm very curious to see how many C5 owners would consider Shell's V-Power premium over Chevron Supreme w/ Techron. I have used Chevron in all 12 of my vehicals for the past 20 or so years and I'm just wondering if it is worth trying another fuel brand.

Here in S/W Houston, I don't use Chevron for two reasons.
#1 -- by far, the most important, Chevron stations here do not post their octane ratings. You don't know what grade of fuel you are buying.
#2 -- the stations here feed all three grades of fuel through a common delivery mechanism that uses only one hose and spout. I have no way of assuring that the highest octane grade isn't contaminated, to some degree, with lower grade fuel.
Until recently, I used only Texaco 93 octane fuel. However, Shell purchased all the Texaco stations and is rapidly converting them to Shell stations. In view of this, I switched to Shell 93 Octane as my primary choice for fuel.
hope this helps,
dave

Gas is Gas to me. As long as its 93, its fine. I monitor daily with my HPtuners and I can tell you there is almost ZERO difference in RaceTrak, Chevron, Amaco, BP, Shell premium gas. Dont matter if its coming out a single spout pump or separate.
Ive got over 200scan files to prove this.

As long as they put Techron in it, I will keep using Chevron.
Gas gauge screwed up one time after i started using "ordinary gas"
I learned my lesson.

Also, the other day, my guage acted up and I am back to adding extra additive every fill up for a while. Hopefully it will clear up. I still set the trip odometer and watch it and head in for fill up at the 300 mile mark.

I was told by a friend that manages a gas station that all the basic fuel is the same, it's just all the additional additives that move it from 87 to 93. So it doesn't matter if it all came out of the same truck.
