You can count me in also. I get sick of the the gray alternator around all of my white and ss pieces under the hood.

Here is mine. I sent it to a place called Metron in Ill. last winter. Ed took it apart, had it chromed, put it back together and the shipping both ways and the chorming was $190.00. It took 5 weeks but like I said I did it while the vett was in storage. Ed knows his stuff about taking them apart and putting them back! Jim

Had mine chromed there too. Ed also owns a vette and is a great guy to do business with. I would highly recommend him.

How hard is it to remove a c-5 Alt and the mounting bracket, and then replace them?

Is it hard to get the belt back on and the proper tension set?

Alt. is a piece of cake! Two bolts and it comes right off. The idler tensioner takes care of the tension! The bracket,I don't know but on my 99 it looks like you have to remove a pully to get to one of the bottom bolts. I taped my belt to one of the pullys so it would not come off the grooves ,Jim

Can't remember the exact cost, I also had them do a few other items for me along with the alternator/bracket.
Check out the link to the web site and call the toll free number.
Ed will quote you the price over the phone.
