About 6 weeks ago I asked for help with an inoperative CD Player. I got a few responses but none solved the problem. I got a service manual and checked to see if there was a seperate power source for the CD. Only one for the radio & CD and one for the memory. [the radio works but the in-dash CD doesn't.] Well, today I talked to the mechanic that had worked on the HVAC prior to the CD problem. After much discusion and going over wiring diagrams, we decided to try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes to see if we could reactivate the CD. It worked and I am happy to say everything is working again.
glad to here that solved your problem. I am having the same issue, I had a cassette player and bought a cd player from a forum member and installed it, it plays the radio but not cd's. I tried disconnecting the battery for a second and it did not work, i'll have to try it for 5 mins to see if it works. Did you get an messages on it when you put in a cd? I get a err message on the display.
I had the same issue with an aftermarket cd changer installed in the car before I bought it. It didn't work when I picked the car up and before replacing it I pulled the fuse for it, waited a few minutes, put it in and bingo!! worked!
