I just wanted to take the time and express something...
I have enjoyed many things in my 33 years of life and nothing comes first, but my family. However, my corvette is like an addiction. I can't drive it enough, I can't wipe it down and clean it enough. My vette has introduced me to one of the greatest FORUMs in the world and I have met some awesome folks through this forum. Not to mention you guys have saved me a great deal of money and helped me in many ways!
When I am deployed I think of my ride when I get back, I imagine the first time it will be when I can wash my car with my son. The truth is, I love and have always loved the CORVETTE!
welcome! we're all in the same boat here. i have loved the look of a corvette since i was a kid a l-o-n-g time ago. we are now on our 2nd vette (1st one was a torch red c4 coupe; current vette is a sebring silver c5 coupe). although i never lose sight of the fact that it's a car-----i can hardly wait to drive it. the magic of slipping into the seat, turning the key, watching the gauges wake up, hearing that music from the back of the car and more. then you slip it in gear, look around, pinch yourself and off you go. does it get better than that? this is true love! bub
p.s. these forums are an immense source of useful information!!!!
God bless you and keep you and yours safe when you are away. We all owe you for protecting our freedoms. And GOOD LUCK!
I agree with your Corvette sentiment. I'm a couple of decades older than you, have been through all the "stages" of car ownership from British sports cars to muscle cars to Porsche to all manner of other imports, but nothing has ever come closer than the Corvette to making me automotively happy all the time!

I agree with you totally, Micah! My Vette is a "mood elevator" and a 3300 lb. Viagra!
All kidding aside, I sometimes go out to the garage and I see that beautiful black machine sitting there and pinch myself - because I can't believe after waiting so long that I finally have my dream car.
Hang in there, Micah, it won't be long until you're home with your loved ones!
Micah I think most of us will agree with your thoughts. I am on my 10th Vette and loved them all including the first one, a 1959 I bought for $600. But I sold it for $2,000 after tons of work.
I grew up in Australia where most of the American muscle-cars and super-cars were as rare as hens teeth. My exposure to the Corvette was through Australian car magazines. I have always been a fan of the Australian and American style of muscle - honking big block engines. The Corvette is the most exotic of that style.
I live and work in the US now and driving a Corvette is, for me, driving the American supercar.
