I did it... I had a small occurence that cost me my passenger side rear view mirror. It should be easy to locate another one, but once I do I don't know if I should give the car to a "shop" for an install or do it myself ! Does anyone have any idea how tough it is to remove a door panel for this procedure ?... thanks.
Real easy. Get yourself a tool at your auto parts store that looks like a two pronged fork. You will slip it between the door panel and the door to pop the panel off where the pins are. Do a search here and in the audio section, and see if you can find some pics of the door panel off. I found some pics a few months ago before I did my stereo upgrade. But you have to take off the reflector on the trailing edge of the door, the door control panel, and a little plastic piece behind the inside door handle to get to the screws. I think you need a torx (how ever it is spelled) driver to remove the screws. But it is a 10 minutes job, not hard to do. Good luck.
On Vette Essentials (if I remember correctly) website they have instructions for removing the door pannel to install their door pulls. The
are very good step by step with pictures.

There are plenty of DIY instructions on their site. Very detailed.

VE has excellent step by step directions as the others above me stated. The one piece of advice I can add is to go slow and take your time. I broke both of the reflectors on my doors when I did my VE install. I broke them because I was rushing....haste does make waste!
I agree with the Vette Essentials comments. I had to fix my driver's side mirror when the tension spring blew out. Took me a few tools and about 30 minutes. Definitely do it yourself.
door pull remove two screws...
...then remove the door reflectors
Grip the hole where the reflector was...
...and give a short firm pull... it will sound like the door is falling off
but that is the only area to pull from to ensure that the fasteners dont break...
...oh and you might as well get the door pull replacement covers cause the plastic just doesnt endure removal too well...
