I can't believe it!
Have consistantly been using Chevron and also adding Techron to my tank, and just ONE time this week I put Mobil in because I was too low on gas to find a Chevron station: There it is ........the gas gauge went kaflooey.
I filled with Mobil from almost empty and have only used 1/2 a tank
before the trouble................Wow! I will use Chevron even if I have to walk to the station with a can!
I've been using Mobil since I got the car last year, and I haven't had any issues. Took a little while for the gas gauge to calibrate, but no problems since.

Could be you got some bad stuff...
I've been using mostly Mobil since I got my car 6 months ago. I don't notice anything unusual, no issues with gas guage whatsoever. I've used Shell and some other gasolines (no off-brands) and I haven't noticed any difference with any of their hi-tests.
Sure does seem funny though, that one time I switch, IT happens!......
Was that a "high turn over station" It is possible you got bad gas, because it was old or contaimated. I would not blame Mobil in general.
FWIW I try to switch my brands of gas a little as all brands use a little different additive mix. When I had my C5, that appeared to help+ the adding of Tecron ( NO Chevron stations in my area)

Yes, it was a VERY high turn over station on a main Highway!
I just use Super from the closest gas station that I am near and don't have any issues. I can't believe it either that the brand of gas you are usuing can cause a problem with the gauge.
I only use Mobil in my car. Started using it just out of convenience but the one time I put some other brand gas, my fuel gauge acted up. Some people swear by Chevron, which I know is good gas, but it's nothing but Mobil for me.
I've used Sam's Club fuel (I wonder who their supplier is?) almost exclusively in the year since I bought the Z06. The only unusual thing noted in the gas gauge operation is that it drops off the full mark prematurely after just a few miles, but then seems to settle down and pace fuel consumption just fine.

Murphy oil company gas (WallMart) for me also and no problems with fuel gage readings either on the C5 or C4s.
Knock on wood. I've had 4 different C5s since 2000 and I have never seen the gas gauge problem... And I buy the cheapest gas I can find where ever it is, usually Citgo at 7-Eleven. Maybe North TX gas is cleaner, or something?
