I have heard other members on the forum refer to a problem that affects the seats in the vettes and have heard them refer to it as "rocking seat" or something similar to it. In my Z06 if you put a little too much weight on the driver's seat the backrest clicks one time very loudly and goes back. I was wondering if my symptoms are those of "rocking seat" and if so, is it easy to fix. I have warranty but i just want to know if it is a simple procedure so that i can plan more or less how long my car will be at the dealer. Thanks....
Mine does the same thing I took it to the dealer and it still does it. A guy I work with got his fixed by the dealer finally replacing the whole seat. Mine clicked back on me at a track day last weekend not something I really enjoyed right before hitting the brakes at about 90mph.
EDIT: BTW I only weigh about 160.

It only happens after I get in so maybe I pop something. I have gotten in the habit of lifting the adj lever and my back, right after I put my seatbelt on. It never pops loose if I do that.
BTW this isn't the rocking seat problem. That has to do with the floor rails.
Had my 01 ZO6 seats looked at by the dealer for "rocking", as I recall it's actually the rollers in the seat track, they're nylon/plastic and they break. I had mine repaired under extended warranty, complete new track installed on both sides. The cost was outrageous, $100's of dollars, but didn't cost me anything due to the extended warranty. Don't know if the rollers can be purchased seperately, but if not, maybe some of the aftermarket guys will start making them.

My dad managed to get my seat to "pop" on one side while trying to reach something in his pocket after a test drive. That was the only time it did it.
I have about 8k miles on my '04 Z, and I now seem to have picked up the dreaded "seat rock". This sucks.
