Default Michelins - Wow

Hi All -

I just replaced my GY run flats with Michelin run flats. I haven't driven it that hard yet but the ride has improved greatly. The combination of Michelins with mag ride suspension and Z06 sway bars has made this one of the most comfortable rides I've ever had. What a great combination!

Question -
What kind of pressure do those of you with Michelins recommend? I kept the GYs at 30# cold.

Thanks.

Ron

I wouldn't put any more than 30 psi cold in the tires. Too much air in the tire when hot will cause it to wear prematurely.

I don't have the Michelin ZP's but I do have the Michelin PS2's. I run 30 psi cold in them but these tires seem to run a lot hotter than the F1 Supercars they replaced. I just returned from a 6,800 mile trip and the highest pressure I saw was 40psi one day on the highway. I don't know what the max pressure is on the ZP's but it's 51 psi on the PS2's.

If anyone run's PS2's chime in and let me know the pressure you run.

I also replaced the GY runcraps with Michelins a fee months ago, but with the PS2s no runflat. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! I had to get used to the handling all over again.

Quicker, , smoother, MUCH quieter, etc. I can actually have a conversation with someone else in the car. The only problem is I can hear noises I couldn't hear before., so I'm discovering the car all over again.

I too have the F55 and added Z06 bars. Awesome. The tunnel plate stiffened things up too.

With everything, this is a totaly different car! Oh, yeah, I run 30 psi in my PS2s also.

I replace my GY runcraps with Michelin PS A/S .... much quieter. Tire dealer put in 34psi cold but I reduce it to 30psi cold.

I’m considering replacing the GY run flats with Michelin run flats. Does any know how far you can drive on deflated Michelin run flats?

I'm going with the Michelin runflats when the time comes to replace the Goodyears.
Regarding how far you can drive with the tire flat, I think it's around 50 miles, which is enough for me as only drive the car when I want to.

Thanks!

Old pics of the car when I got the tires. Trust me, my car only looks like that for a maximum of 12 hours when it's been caught in a rain storm. I've even washed my car in the rain once.

I had them on my 99 and loved them. I ran mine at OEM specs - 30 PSI stone cold.

I had the non-runflats mounted on a set of Malletts - they would flat-spot only after sitting a week. Other than that - big improvement in ride and noise level over the GY runflats. I also had the GY GS-D3s - I liked them better than the MPSs but the sizes are limited.

This is from Michelin: " the Pilot Sport A/S ZP tires are run flat tires and can be driven at 55 mph for 125 miles with zero air pressure."

I run mine with 30psi. I highly recommend these tires!
