Default Moving on up!

After fifteen years, I am now ready to trade my C4 for a 5. Other than the obvious price differences, what are the other diffs between a 2002, 03 and 04? I am interested in a non-Z06 coupe, either manual or auto. Are there any "chronic problems" associated with any of the years, anything I should look out for in specific years, etc.? Thanks.

there is no shortage of threads here on c5 issues. just wanted to throw a comment that, as a former c4 owner here, we went to a c5 & are pleasantly shocked in how it's a better car in every way. good luck! btw, we opted for an a4 2000 coupe. lovin' every minute of it! bub

Essentially they are very similar with one key exception: the wimpy fuel system that went into the mid-year 03 and 04. It even includes moving the fuel filter INSIDE THE TANK due to some then-new EPA regs. Can you imagine dropping the tank to change a lousy fuel filter?

I found a fabulous 02, based on researching for some months which C5 to get after I sold my sweet little C4; I still miss the seats and the right-now steering, but that's really all I miss. The C5 is outstanding Go for it!

I went from a vert '89 C4 to a brand new C5. Eventhought the C4 was all original 18K miles, there is just no looking back for me. The C5 is so confortable, smoother. Mine is auto so I (knock on wood) have never had a prob - column lock, weird messages on DIC, etc. I hop on it and ....GGOOOO!!!
