I keep my Z on a battery tender as it sits a couple weeks at a time. The other nite we had a storm,I was in garage, heard a clap closer and lost the power in garage. No big deal figured groung fault opened and will reset. When I reset it, lights on and smelled transformer cooked smell. I noticed the Battery tender light is out and sure enough it is cooked, oh well, I'll get a new one I figured. I took the Z to work the next day and she started up fine and runs fine but I have check traction control system and check abs system scrolling across the screen and lit up on dash now. Any thoughts out there from you tech guys or gals on what might have been damaged or set out of whack? I hate the thoughts of bringing it to the dealer.
I hope it was the fuzes or that you have a warranty. Here in Central Florida we have a near strike at least once a year and it knocks out electronics. You never know where the surge will travel and it only has to fry a tiny sliver of solder to ruin modern electronics.
If its any consolation, a common surge protector probably would not have helped. I gave up on those after a couple of failures and only buy extended warranties on my electronics.
It is under warranty, an 04 with 1900 miles on her. Ritchie can you direct me to the correct fuses or are they marked at the box? That would be nice. I really dread bringing it to the dealer. I have made an appt for next week in case I have to. Thanks in advance. Jim
I would look in the owners manual, it should have a diagram of the fuse box. I just got my ZO6 a little over a month ago and haven't had to tear into it yet. From my past experience that is where I would start to look.

ck the codes, press and hold #4 while hitting #1-4 times, any codes accompany the warning?
No codes after warning. Press and hold #4? while pressing #1? The buttons for differant functions? If that is what you mean is that from the top or bottom? Jim
OK, I checked the fuses and mudules that would be relevant and all seem fine. I did the code ccheck with option buttons and got
28TCS - 1 code
AOLDCM - 1 code
AI- RDCM - 1 code
any Idea what this might be? Thanks in advance. Jim
