ok...moving into a new house, and the driveway is a major PITA to get out of... i have to take it at an insane angle, and i can hear the whole car flexing and groaning when backing out.
I noticed today after backing out (and hearing/feeling the car flexing), I hear a metalic rattleing comming from the front corner, almost under the dash/towards the very front of the drivers side door corner while driving away.
It rattles like this for a little while then goes away, ..but only to happen again next time im going out of the driveway. Should i be concerned that the car might be flexing too much? Is this bad for the car?
also, does anyone know what this metal rattleing sound might be?
I had a real creaking sound coming from what appeared to the the drivers door hinge area. I found that the bottom hinge, at the bottom, has a roller and spring assembly. You have to get your head right down there to be able to see it. I sprayed some silicone lubricant in where the roller rolls. Opened and closed the door a few times. It's like the roller had seized on it's pin. The door still opened and closed fine but the roller wasn't rolling. Once it started to loosen up it groaned once or twice. I have lubed it a couple of more times since then and it seems good now. The creaking has disappeared. I hope yours is the same thing it's an easy fix. Let us know what you find.
