Default C5 Price Question

Hey guys, I found a red 97 C5 auto for sale. It has 99k miles and is in good condition. The only issues the car has is a slight tear in the driver seat and a few rock chips on the nose. The car is said to run and shift very good. The owner wants $14k for it...and is firm at that. Does that sound reasonable?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Very reasonable.. but don't ask the other old fogies in here. They get all upset when they realize how badly prices for the C5 have depreciated. They would expect you to pay more along the lines of 40-90k for one , just to make them feel better about their car. What they've worked their entire life so hard for, now any 16 year old can afford.

I have no idea where the "old Fogie" BS comes from but it sounds like a good deal to me and me being an Old Fogie to boot, this car like any other is worth what you want to pay for it and what you think it is worth and not one cent more, do your home work and make your decision on that, not what someone else thinks, they won't be aorund when the sh** hits the fan and something goes wrong with it.

Ya, but you know how it is today.. they just piggy back on top of ma and pa's policy. Ma and pa are already 40 or over so have low premiums.

Sounds like a very good price, if it's in the condition you say it is. Good luck with the decision.

Price sounds good, just have it checked out by a good mechanic for major problems, but the price is 3-4K below what a low mileage car would command. Just remember it's 9 years old with almost 100K miles, so there will be some things that will be worn out or close to it, even with excellent service.

Sounds like a deal. I do agree with the others ..... get it checkout by a qualified mechanic. Money well spent.

I'd also check with the current owner and see if he's got any service records. Good luck!

Last year when I was 19 I had no problem

I know it's not 16 but it should account for something

I think it's a good deal. Get it checked out, and go buy it

Default it must be me...

100,000 miles-14 grand??ok.if you like it,buy it.i wouldn't pay 14 grand for a 100,000 mile anything that wasn't made out of gold! i would take my 14 grand,find a newer,low mileage vette,plunk down the 14,and drive away with a low payment,low mileage,instant equity in my new vette,vette!but,that;s just me.enjoy it if you get it.
