This is pretty basic, but I can't figure it out...

Which number or character in the serial number indicates the year ??

10th character - 1997(V), 1998(W), 1999(X), 2000(Y)------2001(1), 2002(2), 2003(3) etc...

No wonder I couldn't figure it out - they changed from letters to numbers and that's what confused me....
