I have a windscreen mod that I have been working on. The screen material and bracket are all set. My problem is with how to attach it to the car. 3 inch spring clamps worked but looked ugly. 2 inch spring clamps were to small. The latches from another top would not work.
Does anyone have any ideas on attaching the screen to the car?
no pictures at the present.
more info:
to make the screen I took the top off and using 2 spring clamps I clamped heavy tracing paper to the top. using this as my template I cut the shape from 1/8 inch white plastic board.
the brackets are easy they are just a bent "L" shaped bracket.
the 3 inch spring clamp worked best at the site for the attachment of the visor (I have no visors). Besides looking ugly I also felt this was a hazard to my eyes if I was in an accident.
I did try it out at highway speed and it does cut down on noise and wind drag/interior turbulance.
After I started working on the design I found out that Ecklers has one called the Windjammer but I can not tell how they attach it and they did not respond on my request for information on the item.

The windjammer sold for the C5 is held on by bolts that screw through the same brackets that hold on the coupe's top. It's a PITA to get off and on, IMHO.

You just saved me some $$ cause I was going to order one of those.....and would have been VERY disappointed to see that kind of mounting. Rotating levers like the top would be the right way.
