POLISHED ALL THE WAY!!! Chrome is for bling effect. All factory rims are clearcoated - most aftermarket are not. Ask anyone with HRE polished rims how much fun they are to feekp looking new.
I had factory polished, it was a PITA to keep them shining, and even then, no comparison to chrome. Now I have HRE full chrome and it is a piece of cake to maintain them.
One caveat, though, is that my car is not a daily driver and not driven in the winter.
Well, I have polished OEM polished ZO6 wheels and I absolutely love them. I would have to say go with the polished. Chrome is great until you get a chip or if it starts to peal. Then you want to kill someone because the warranty didn't cover rock chips and curb rash. If you scratch a polished wheel, then you just keep polishing.

Mine is a daily driver and I will probably be driving it this winter. That said what would be better for that? Is all the snow and salt harder on chrome, or polished?

Chrome. This is why most OEM wheels, foreign and domestic, are polished and clearcoated. If you live in an area that salts the roads, you'll need a set of backup wheels/tires for winter if you've got chrome wheels...or another car.
...and let's not forget that chromed wheels are 2-3 lbs. heavier per wheel, adding unsprung weight which is not a very good thing.
Chrome is okay, but has a hard, edgy look. That may be okay for some, but not for me. That is why I chose, non-clearcoated, polished wheels. A lustrous, softer, very classy look IMHO.
