The house is his parents home not his home. He lives there with his mother, father, grandmother, and his gf. Jon has left out alot of information. Things like how his gf pays his alot of his bills and so does his parents. It is his parents home and the whole movie ordeal...well that was nothing like he said it was.

Also people that have talked about picking up the car from Jon or trading it you should know a few things. The AC does not work, it does not have a working air bag system, it does not have sway bars on it. Due to the nasty stereo install in the hatch the top does not stow there anymore. The car is a HUGE electrical nightmare. The wires in the doors have been hacked to pieces, along with behind the radio, and under the dash. There are alot of missing behind the scenes items also. The paint job on the car is fantastic, the misc new interior pieces or gorgeous, and the motor runs well and has potential. The rest of the car is a mess. The car has 140k miles on it...not the 400 miles Jon listed it as on Ebay. The car would be a good deal for someone who has the ability take care of the issues and if it was bought cheap. Otherwise whoever gets is going to end up spending alot of time and money to bring that car up to "professional show car" status let alone safe and driveable.

After reading this entire thread, all I can say is OMG! I am also 30 years old and I would sell off everything I have to keep my house and not depend on anybody else. When my wife was between jobs this spring, I sold off some Vette accessories and guns just to avoid carrying CC debt. I knew that once things smoothed out, I could always buy replacements. My parents even offered to give me money and I said NO!!!

Sounds like Jon's family needs to make him accountable for once. As long as he has others to pay his bills, take out home equity loans, etc to pay for his debt, he will never learn or change. My brother in law is this same way. Lives WAAAAY beyond his means and then his parents (my wife's parents) bail him out. Every time. He is 26 and makes decisions like he is 16. Very sad.

Sounds like Paul Harvey's "The rest of the story". The most important pieces of the puzzle are in this post. Harsh but true. If I were in Jon's shoes with a great g/f, family and God, I would ask them all to help me turn this whole thing around. To me that means sell it all, work to get out of debt, and move out.

I do not know Jon well, but after reading this thread, I do not think he wants to change . This is just my opinion.

Ok, OK.. we need to stop now...

I know Jon put this out there for us to read and I know it's been said again and again and there's all sorts of truths, semi-truths and mis-leading statements but we need to stop the bashing...

I'm not overly defending Jon. He's made this bed... but this thread is old and we need to stop folks... the guys laying on the ground for goodness sakes... stopping kicking him...

I will say this though, the next time I see him post and he starts spouting off about this and that, I'll remind him of "last time" and ask him to shut it. I think after the last couple posts he made, this one and the trade for the F650, he's done.. and that's fine... As several people pointed out, it was getting old.

Lets LOCK THIS THREAD.
