Here's a good one...check engine light came on during the last fourth of July parade. Checked the code(s), here's what I had. PCM-P0410, AIR system HC. Did a visual, all connections seem fine. Reset the code, no problem. 45 minutes of "regular" driving later, light and code came back. Reset again, got out the books and made myself smart on the Corvette AIR system. Now the light and code stays away for about for 1.5 hours (or so) of combination city/highway driving, but will still come back. Two questions...any ideas for a fix, and I read on this forum that emissions equipment has a federally mandated 84 month warrenty. Is this true? Your collective knowledge is admired and appreciated!
Just exhaust and air intake, but they've been there for years. I'm the second owner and the person I bought it from used it as a show car only, so it has less than 15,000 miles total. (but I'm quickly changing that!) It seems to happen mostly after a highway run, and I felt a slight hitch from the engine once (at a stop light) and the light set, but I may have felt the ac comp. Any ideas yet? (thanks in advance!)
I would check the air hose at the intake filter and at the pump (2 @ pump)
Check valve failure is common. drivers side is easy the passenger side check valve sits behind the intake manifold. check valves can stick open. sometimes a knock on the valve will free it up.
Air pump should run on startup for 4 minutes. remove hose from check valve on drivers side. Turn on your headlights (pump sites under driver side headlight) for pump access. Start car and listen to pump it is electric but you can hear it running. Put your finger over disconnected hose, you should feel air pressure. If no pressure or you don't here the pump
you are closer to the problem.
then you need to diagnose whey the pump is not working.
do a search on po410 you will find some other info and pics.
I don't know If emissions are still under warranty for 50 thou
