Material Differences in 2000 and 2003/4
I bought a radio/HVAC surround from a forum member and its physically the same part but not the same material.
My 2000 has a soft, more glossy padding on the console, where the one I bought it more matte and has a semi soft to touch feel, I wouldn't even say there is any padding or anything else to it. I never did get the whole 'cheap plastic interior' complaints on the C5, granted its not the best, but for what they charge for the car the money did not go into the interior. This is what I would call quite a bit cheaper material wise.
When did they change?
I thought of putting it in anyways because the reason I wanted to replace mine was the padding material was wearing away and tearing.
I'm not sure how it would look against the dash since the dash itself has that same soft touch shiny material on it.
