Default Mirror - Signal Light?

Whose done this one?

http://www.kwmuth.com/products/smtechnology.htm

I like how they look, but also the additional safety feature. Anybody done it yet and if so, would your recommend DIY or vendor install.

I've never liked these things (especially on SUVs where I have have seen them most commonly) because when you see someone with the four-ways on from one side, you think the guy is coming at you! It wouldn't much of a false threat coming from a Vette, but why ask for confusion in that situation?

How often do you drive around with the 4 ways on? Unless you're winning a street race.......

I like them, but for the $ I'll pass. I'd rather have the ones like the mercedes benz style on the mirror. Im not sure why US vehicles dont have side marker flashes, it would help greatly on the highway when switching lanes.

I don't see anything wrong with the idea.

...the guys who make the sequential tail light blinking system could incorporate that as a third sequence option.

Default Mirror LED sigs

I liked this the very first time I saw them. I'll be getting them as soon as I have a few extra schekels. I'll be looking for someone to do the install as it looks like a real PITA. I will be doing this mod.

The 2004 Cadillac that my wife drives has the turn signal included into the side mirrors. Seems like a good idea.

I have them on my 04 Vert and a friend of mine has them on his Z16 Z06 and they look and work awesome. Installed both sets myself and it's really not that difficult at all. Really like the idea of cars in the blind spot seeing them. If you like the look, I highly recommend them.

My parents just bought a '05 Navigator and it has the signal lights on the bottom of the side mirrors, I like this approach the best.

It is a good idea but a majority of the people don't use their signals anyways.

Good idea. If it helps other drivers better see what you are doing, I'm all for it.

Default Discount?

Loved the idea I thought. Bought a pair from Muth and got the Forum discount for them. I think I paid $165 for them. On tMuth's website, they identified their "official installers". Everyone that I contacted in the Maryland area wanted anywhere from $185 to $225 to install.

Each of the "official installers" said that if I had bought them from them I could have gotten both the mirrors and the install for about $185.

So now there still sitting in the box. Haven't decided what I want to do yet.

You should be aware that if you have the self-dimming feature, these mirrors will disable it. I've decided against intallation because of this.

I got LED turn indicators at bottom of the side mirrors on my 97 Mark VIII, standard feature from the factory.
