don't have the box anymore,but it was just round holes lined up evenly,a la dremel.

I've thought about doing this myself, How much does it improve air flow and what are the down sides, if any.

downside
just a little water on the filter when you wash it or it rains.get a hood seal for that little issue,which will also add 12 h.p!
