pup cats

i have a 2001 vette and what would happen if i took off the pup cats. would it run better and sound better and pass smog. steve.

I wouldn't remove them... by the time and expense to have a short pipe welded in you might as well buy long tube headers.

But the GoreCats can also be gutted - it's cheap and easy to do

I don't think your car has them. 2001 was the first year for them. They could be more easily described as a pre-cat cat.

My car has long tubes and no pup-cats and will pass inspection in Texas.
