i've had mine off twice in the past week(to clear the 1416 air check valve code); should take 15mins to remove intake and about the same to install new one; need the front and rear coolant lines for the also--keep in mind all ls1's have the ls6 intake 2001+
Say, could you tell me how difficult/tecnical relocating the knock sensors thing is? Is there some soldering or brazing or something like that to do? And how critical is the placement of them?
I am going to attempt this, but with an aftermarket intake...soon

Thanks in advance for any help
Why would you want to relocate the knock sensors?
The only reason I could see doing so is if you were going with an LS2 based motor that requires placing them in a different location that you tap into the block at down on the side. The LS2 block doesn't have the same KS provisions for mounting as the ls1/ls6 does. Requires extending the harness or buying an extender harness from Racetronix..

Hmmm, I wasn't expecting that response.....
I believe that I saw ,a while back somewhere. a how-to that indicated these sensors( I thought they were the knock sensors) under the ls1 intake needed to be moved somewhat, to accept the lower plenum area of the ls-6 intake.
Thus the question....
Now, if they are not the knock sensors, then whatever these are I am speaking of,are the subject of the question....
Excuse me if I mis-stated the question,Ithought I had a handle on this swap,,,,except for this little snafuu..
threadjackers!! the coolant pipes need to be replaced w/ the newer ones, that could be what your thinking of? now, back to the ls6 intake install vacancy.......

What do you mean 01+ ls1's have ls6 intakes? Are you sure, what else do we have?
tru ice, yes if your car is 01+ then you have the ls6, also some cars have the ls6 block, like i posted prev. ck the part# on the pass/mid side of intake manifold, if the suffix is 333, then it's ls1 and while i'm off topic(no worries)anyone need a ls6 intake installed?
