Default Need Tech-II Help!

Any forum members in the greater Seattle vicinity have, or know someone with a Tech-II?

I need to disable the F45 ride control on my BCM. I’ve got Z06 shocks and I’m tired of the D.I.C. message.

1999 M6 Vert.

I would rather pay a CF member to remove it than a dealer if possible.

Thanks!

I was afraid of this. Okay, so I guess it’s dealer time.

Has anyone in Western Washington had a dealer perform this? And if so, which one?

Also, does anyone know if the procedure requires a reflash of the BCM or can the F45 be shut down in isolation?

Thanks for any input.

Shouldn't be a problem finding a dealer to do it. A buddy of mine had a local dealer here in Atlanta do it for 20 bucks. Took all of 10 minutes. F45 can be shut off without messing with the PCM programming. The F45 computer in the rear driver's storage compartment needs to be disconnected first.

Call up the service dept. and ask if they'll do it for you first.

Patches, thanks very much for the reply.

I really needed to know that this would not affect the tune.

The first dealer I went to I made the mistake of catching a service supervisor and he refused to even try citing that any change to the factory computor is technically an emission violation by the dealer.

The other dealer I went to the "tech-2 guy" had never heard of this but together we got it figured out. Now it's done and the module is unplugged.

Using Tech 2:
1-go into BCM reprogram .
2-It will ask what country it's built for.
3-It will ask if you have Z49.
4-Then it will list available options and you can toggle off ride control (remove asterisk).
5-Then hit reprogram,
6-then unplug the the ride control module (in driver-side storage bay).
7-Key off, wait a couple minutes and restart.

So far it seems to be fine. Now I'm temped to remove active handling.
