Does anyone know of an easy (and CHEAP) way of tightening up an A4 trans. I like the automatic because I'm lazy and I'm in traffic a lot, but its a little sloppy for me. Looking for shorter duration mostly.
Thanks for the help............And remember........Cheap.......I have a wife!!
I swapped out gears to a 3.42 and put in a Yank TC along with a Hypertech to firm up shifts - but that was vey expensive.
Many here will recommend the TransGo Shift kit - which is pretty cheap... but my mechanic won't put it on my C5 for me - unless I firm up other things. He knows I don't have money to buy another trans if I blow mine out.
BTW - this thread is going to go on for a while I think.
Predator tune eliminates torque management & quickens the shifts. If you are brave enough you can reprogram the stock Predator tune to shift even faster/harder.

That's probably the cheapest and easiest way to make an improvement.
There are even more effecrtive methods - but they'll cost you more (especially if you figure in the installation labor).

In my opinion the transgo shift kit is useless for an a4.
Reprogramming achieves far better results WITHOUT going into the transmission.
