A question about hoodliner retainers
A while ago some of the forum members were talking about using the chrome caps which fit in the bottom of the sinks as hoodliner retainers.I went to lowe's and all i could find were the ones that have the long plastic attachment on them.Is their some where else i can look for them or is that what is used and the plastic part cut off? They run 6 something a piece i looked in the plumbing dept but found nothing else can someone chime in and tell me where i might find the right thing.........Charlene
I found the same on my first trip. On my second trip I asked an employee for the "sink caps" without the plastic attachment. I asked him for the ones that snapped in...
Is that the size i need then the 1/1/2 inches that they have on the websight you gave me.
Yes that is them. I got mine @ Lowes in the same area as the ones you found. $1.17 apiece. You WILL have to trim the plastic factory hoodliner retainers though. I think it add a nice touch for little dollars. Good luck!!!

Let me get this stright you leave the plastic hooodliners in and these go over them or do you take the plastic hood liners out and insert the chrome ones?Do you bend the chrome ones around the plastic ones is that how its done.

You have to remove the plastic ones, trim them a little, bend the chrome ones over the plastic ones and then reinsert in the hood. Piece of cake!

The major difficulty I've had is finding a Lowe's that has them in stock. Three different stores = all sold out. The fourth did have them before I went through checkout.
Charlene, the part you need from Lowes is the "Faucet Hole cover", part number 24467. They should be able to order you a box of 15 with no problem. When I bought mine I needed 30 for 2 cars and had one of the Lowes search the inventory for all stores in the area. Was able to come up with a store that had 2 boxes.Wound up with 3 extra from the 2 boxes. Make sure they are all 11/2 inches.

Funny you come up with what they would look like painted that is exactaly what i had done to mine since i have a spiral gray metalic o3 i did everthing in the car inside in torch red mats ,cargo area and decals in the car and under the hood.Paula did the hood liner for me in reds and silver and black so i thought what if i painted the plastic retainers red and that is what i did.But i am looking into the chome ones also and have having a rought time finding them went to both lowes and home depot and some old hardware stores no luck.
