Took my 04 in yesterday to have a new C6 shifter put and told them to put the "CAGS" in while they were doing it. When I picked it up they said to install the "CAGS" would require an additional two hours labor because it is so difficult to get to. Claimed they would have to drop the whole exhaust system. Is this exclusive to the 04's or are thay misssing something?
Takes less than 5 minutes once you can get under the car. Simple unplug and replug. Done. There is plenty of room to get your hands into the transmission area.
I think the dealer is feeding you a line of B/S. I have an 03 coupe 6 spd and it took me 1/2 hour to put mine in and that included jacking up the rear end. Look on the forum for install instructions....or if you buy one they should come with it. Very easy unplug and replug install. Good luck but stay away from that dealer.

Don't forget the 30 seconds it takes to tie strap it up so it's neat and out of the way.

Hmmmm? Can't imagine where they are coming up with the extra 1hr & 55 minutes. 5 minutes tops should be all that it would take them. You could do it yourself in less than 10 minutes. Here's how it's done:
I think i am totally missing something here, I dont have nearly as much room as they have here in the instructions. I have an 01 Z06. WTF, I think i just might be that special...
I couldnt find the cable connector.... and when i think i finally did MAYBE find it, it was way too damn hot....will try it later tonight....Sorry, I just come from the old school, had a C3 before this one and that was a great car to work on, room everywhere for anything.

I don't think I would be taking my car back there if they take 2 hours to do what should take about 5 minutes. Very easy to do. All you need is a floor jack, some jack stands and the ability to crawl under the car and unhood one connector. Then just hook the CAGS eliminator on, zip tie one end of the CAGS eliminator out of the way and you are good to go.
