I have decided that one of the first things I will do to my 'Vette will be to change out the runcraps for better tires (I've test driven several C5s and the tires are my only gripe).
I've heard that it is worth it to switch to drag radials even on a stock car. Because my car will be a daily driver, will it be alright to drive around on DRs in all types of weather? Around how long should they last if I drive around 10k miles a year and occationally visit the track?
If you live in an area that does not get a lot of rain, you don't plan on driving in the rain. Then look for a tire that is rated high for dry traction.
This car is going to be driven in all types of weather, including rain. I need a tire that will perform well at the strip, but be safe for a daily driver.
Stock we need more info. Is your car a C5, Z06, M6, A4. I know your name is stock but post your rwhp and any mods. That way we can give you better advice.
You would be okay driving on Nitto drag radials in the rain, but you would need to slow down a little bit in the rain. I wouldn't recommend them in any worse weather than rain. If you're gonna put 10k miles a year on your car, plan on replacing them every 12-18 months. You'll probably be better off going with BFG gForce KDWs or Michelin PS2s. Good luck with your decision.
