Hi all;

I've been looking for a 1997 to 1999 c5 for about 6 weeks now. Pricing, for the most part, is fairly consistent figuring in mileage and condition. My question is: Will I find lower prices as the fall months arrive? My thinking is owners don't want to store and insure through the winter season. Does this sound logical? Obviously I'm looking for the best deal I can find.

Thanks : JakeT

Sounds reasonable.

But if I were selling mine, I wouldn't discount it for the season. I'm sure some would. Good luck

Same with boats and RV's.

If you're not in a hurry than it might be worth the wait. You might also find something in the mean time. Good Luck and post pics when you find your Vette.

Default Maybe but

as you know most! Vette owner really PRIDE themselves on their cars. So many may not discount because of the season. You need to really shop around and check out the owners as much as the car (ex. can they afford it, to much to up keep for them, financial reasons for giving up the Vette). If they are upgrading then I think they would hold to the price a little more they someone who is not.

I would think that since you're in the North, they would be cheaper in fall/winter.

My rule of thumb has been prices in January are around a grand or two less than in the spring and summer.

Special interest cars are always less expensive in the fall and winter than in the driving season!

I think there's some truth that the cars sell for less before the storage season begins. I know I bought my car the day after Thanksgiving from a very motivated seller in the Chicago area that specifically said he didn't want to store the car again. He was planning to buy a Z06 in the spring.

Another factor is that the cars will be another model year older, and will have depreciated again, plus with the upcoming C6 Z06 there will be C5 owners looking to trade up. Also, the C6 for '06 will have some desireable changes, like a 6 speed auto with paddle shifter, the XM **** on the roof or trunk is going away, new colors, changes in the gearing, etc.

So I would think the best bet is to look to buy starting in October.....
