I got that sight, but where do you place the tab once you bend it ?

It hooks between the wheel well material and the body. When you snap it closed, it tightens up the bra. They are a PITA when new as they fit very tight.

That is a good picture. I have to kind of feel for the right spot every time I attach mine. It is an acquired skill.

I get the idea that the tab is bent into a U shape. Is that correct ?
I am afraid of cracking the fender by forcing the tab between the wheelwell and fender. There appears to be no room there.
Thanks

Once you do it once, you'll think why didn't I think of that before. I had to think about how it attached when I first got mine.

Correct - it takes a little force, but you won't break anything.

on the GM bra, are the air vent openings covered by a screen or are they cut out and opened? also does GM have a fixed price or is it up to the dealer? I've been told they go for around $80.00. I'm looking for one to use on road trips only. Thanks for your input.

$80 is a pretty good price - dealer discretion as to whether they charge "retail" or not.

I assume by "air vents" you mean the fog light area or Z06 screens - it's covered by a clear plastic on the coupe/vert version, and open for the Z06 version of the bra. I have used the coupe version on our Z06 with no problems - might lose a couple of ponies, but it works fine, since the C5 'vette is a bottom breather when it comes to cooling air.

In the pic above, could someone please tell me whether or not the fender well tab is bent, or straight like when it came new.

I am convinced it is bent.

What I want to know is there 1 bend of 90 degrees, or 2 such that if forms a U and wraps around the outer fender.

Many folks have told me that the tab remains straight; but it dont look that way to me. I need a second set of eyes

Thanks

It stays straight. I had the same problem when I first put mine on. Slip it the slot and push it in. Then snap it.

You have to bend the tab to get a hook shape that will hold behind the body shape. Then the snap will hold the bra tight.

Go ahead and snap it then pull the tab to see where you want the final hook to be then shape it to fit as the picture shows.

Good luck with the install.

Its beginning to sound like the consensus is that indeed the tab is bent into a hook that goes around the outer fender. Well, I was beginning to think that but some insist it stays straight.

Are we all in agreement now ?

It must be bent. It cannot work straight.
