How would I know if there is something wrong with the suspension control switch? I feel absolutely no difference when I flip the switch between tour/sport/perf on the console. Is there anyway to tell if it is even working??? Thanks
I took apart the console on a Vette that had that and the **** isn't attached to anything, it just spins! It's a well known engineering joke, I'm surprised you haven't heard!

Just kidding....yes, it works! (that is, if yours isn't broken!) But yes, I've heard from many that it works for them just fine.
If you have a '03 or newer Vette with F55 suspension (Magnetic Selective Ride) the shock stuffers are probably still in. The dealers were supposed to remove them during dealer prep, a lot of them didn't get removed.

Judging by your listed selection options, I assume you have F45 suspension (pre-2003). It took me a while of driving in the various modes before I can tell any difference. It is very subtle at best. I would think that if the switch was bad, it would throw some kind of code....I may be wrong.
I had this problem with my last 'vette, a '94 coupe with the Selective Ride Control. It had the Tour, Sport, and Perf settings as well and I could barely, if at all, tell the difference. One day I was on a wide empty road and I decided to do a little test. It's easier if you have a passenger do this for you. Start driving like you're going through a tight slalomn course. Have your passenger switch from Tour to Perf. The body roll will be GREATLY reduced. You'll notice the car stay a lot flatter in Perf than in Tour.
I never understood what "Sport" was for. As far as I'm concerned, either you're driving it or not. I would always be in either the Tour of Perf settings.
Again, this was on my '94, but I'm sure you'll notice the same effect. If you don't, maybe there is something wrong.
I suppose it's possible that the shocks are no longer working like new. You may need to replace them or have them rebuilt.
My car had the F45 and now has 2004 Z06 shocks and sway bars. You feel everything but it is true "performance" mode permanently and it dropped a few pounds with the switch as well. I very much like it, but then I missed my Z's suspension and wanted a soft top.
We have the same year car but only you know what suspension will best suit your driving preferences.
I have a 99 w/ F45 and can definately tell a difference. It took awhile to 'learn' what to look for and feel, but get on a bumpy road, then switch to perf. You will feel it, no doubt.
Also handles corners flatter and seems to delay the A/H kicking in just a little longer at the track. Nothing like Z, but a subtle stability enhnacement.
