So tomorrow (wednesday) my friend tells me that hes got a friend with a 01 torch red vert, 6spd and he would let me drive it. . I nearly crapped my pants when i heard the good news. I have only driven one other vette in my life, 01 black vert, auto , but it was a vette i cant complain.... but i was just getting your feed back from you guys who own and get to drive there vettes everyday, is there anything i should actually do to make this drive a well to remember experience (i mean ill not forget driving it but something to make it stand out).
thanks.

See if you can find a really twisty road to experience what the car is really capable of doing. These are sportscars and they really shine when the road starts to curve. It really isn't a muscle car, but it can do a fair imitation of one!

Ask him how high you are able to get the revs without pissing him off and take it there whenever possible. THAT is the big thing that you missed out on before.
Also, peeps here Love their autos...pretty fast, gotta respect 'em.
All you have to do is drive it down the street and you will be in for the ride of your life. Driving a Vette fast is not what always makes you happy, but it doesn't hurt either. Enjoy the ride.
I GOT TO DRIVE IT!! it was an 02 vert. The guy was very cool very nice. he let me go some some back roads and told me to gun it alittle and had me go on the highway. One thing i did mess up once was i was 1st gear and went into 4th. But other than that it was awsome.
just don't make the mistake of making a high rev mis-shift from 2nd into 1st while you're looking for 3rd!!!! enjoy the ride. bub
OUCH - that hits a sill sore nerve!
Maybe find a highway - stay in third gear at 3500 RPM or so and punch it - you will be impressed. Taking exits, note the yellow signs - double it + 10 MPH.
