For the last 4 months i have heard a "squeaking" coming from the brakes of my 2000 convertible. I have had the car fully inspected by the dealer and "fixed" twice now (all with factory parts). Neither they nor I can identify the problem. I have got all 4 break pads replaced at least once recently and yet I still hear a squeak. I have also heard that a buildup of "glazing" can cause the problem but even with aggressive breaking cannot seem to solve the problem.
>>>Has anyone else experienced this problem and more importantly has anyone fixed it?
An excellent question and I wish I had a good answer. It might have something to do with the rotors. Also, you might get a better response from posting this question on the C5 Tech forum. Best of luck in getting this resolved; I know how irritating it can be.

Some say it is a vibration (harmonic?) between the back of the brake pad on the caliper. Below is a link to a Tech Tip form the C4 section. I had the squeaky brakes on my 87 and bought a little red squeeze bottle of stuff made for that purpose and it has directions with it. Cured the problem on my 87.
I've had this exact problem. You need to by some disc brake lube, it will go on between the brake pad and Cailpar piston. I put it on every where the metal on the brake pad touches the metal on the clips and cailipar. My problem was solved. Good Luck.
