How the heck does the power plug come off of the mirror. I can't find a tab to push or whatever.

Dont want to break it.

Going to hard wire radar detector.

There is a tab but I had the same problem. Took a pair of pliers to push down the tab and get a good grip on the plug, then you gently "rock the snot out of it" until it slowly comes out.

If you are using the hard-wired plug, you might be able to insert the mirror-end probe into the wiring harness without removing the plug.

It's probably worth a try.

Best of luck.

I found that using both hands, so that you can get 2 fingers pushing down on the tab, and then using both hands to wiggle the plug while pressing the tab.

If you are using my quickconnect, it might be sufficient for you to push the mirror all the way over to the passenger side so you can see the colors of the wires.

I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to get mine off. I wasa worried about breakage also by hand. The pliers did the trick.

First you need a bracket:

Then I would use this wiring harness from this forum member, work great:

Can't find it, but will look later tonight

Not sure. I would call Valentine and ask if power is needed at both places to have it work.
