There isn't one. The A4 and M6 trannies are located just in front of the rear crossmember so a dipstick would be in the center console.
The way to check the fluid on the A4 is to jack the car up or put it on a lift and check the tranny fluid with the car running in Park through the FILL hole on the driver's side of the tranny.
If you have an M6 jack the car up and check the fluid level with the car off through the driver-side FILL hole.

Dip stick, dip stick, we don't need no stinking dip stick.
It's strange, but I wish there was one. To bad an aftermarket tranny cooler didn't come with a way to check level (Site glass etc) I been fooling around with an idea for one, but havn't got it quite ironed out yet.

I disagree. Everyone knows that the tranny dipstick on the C5 is located adjacent to the muffler bearing.

Don't feel bad; I had my C5 for 3 weeks before I read something about the tranny dipstick, or lack of. This is a actually a good question.
