Default Airbrushers Please Come In

I've seen some incredible work done on underhood pieces, fuel rail covers and hoodliners on this forum. I have some artistic talent and can paint with brushes fairly well. How long did it take you folks to learn to airbrush at this level? Did you take a class or just buy the gear and self-teach? I'd like to do some work on my own car and maybe some other stuff like baseball & hockey gear etc. Thanks in advance for your help!

I've been doing it a little over a month now. I do have 1 instructional DVD, and that is Mike Lavallee's true fire dvd he sells at killerpaint.com. I've always been good at drawing, but never painted before, so I just kindof dived right in and hoped I could swim. I think I'm doing okay at the moment. At least I am holding my head above the water anyways lol. If you wanna try, just go for it. You'll never really know if you can or not until you try.

If your looking for guidance on airbrushing, go to "airbrush.com". It is a forum very similar to this one with some very knowledgeable people. They have their share of wise guys on that forum that kinda turn me off, but if you just ignore those chuckle heads, you will/can get a lot of info. Good luck.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'm going to take a chance on it.
