Default Clutch problem

I went to the track with my 99 FRC, the first run I think I smoked my clutch it became very spongy afterwards and I was running horrible times. Is my clutch going bad and if so what would be a good performance one, and while im at it I should probably get a new aluminum flywheel.

... yeh, you probably just took a few miles off the clutch life. been there .. done that.

what exactly happend?

and the type of clutch you replace depends on your thought certain things .. what you plan on doing with the car, (weekend warrior) or a DD with minimal track time .. are you planning on any perf. mods in the next little while (anything like h/c) ..

from what i've heard and gathered for the most part the z06 is a good clutch, as are the LUK GOld Pro (smiliar to the z06 as they're made by the same people) ..

also the RPS and Aussie clutches have been getting good words however those are upwards of $950 for the clutch assembly alone .. do a search on the RPS you should find some good reading.
here is a good one (look for the info posted by andy @ A&A Performance) http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...tch&forum_id=1

expect the labor to total anywhere from $700-$1000 ... and as i was advised, replace the slave while you're in there.
