The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Good morning, my friend: In an effort to assist you in this very particular matter, I offer the following information regarding a specific facility within the Bay Area that may certainly recalibrate your GM dash cluster:
Do call Speed-O-Tach, Inc. This particular provider has been in business since 1976. And, was originally located in Walnut Creek, Ca. The new facility is now alive and well in Concord, CA. Therefore, contact Speed-O-Tach, and, ask for a very helpful long term technician and employee of fifteen years experience by the name of Chris (a wonderful gentlemen from Germany).
Basically, this facility has been the Bose, GM, and, now Ford licensed and authorized facility for domestic automotive manufacturers o.e. electronic, and, stereophonic equipment, that may, in effect, be well out of warranty. In fact, Speed-O-Tach has been a sublet servicer for many of the local automotive dealerships and custom stereo equipment vendors since 1976. Moreover, recalibrating original equipment dash clusters and speedometer gauges has been their well known specialty since their inception.
In general, if you remove the dash cluster, and/or, speedometer gauge yourself, and, bring the sole unit in separately to this specific facility in this manner, the charge is basically $45. And, the recalibration of your GM cluster can be done while you wait (approx. 1 hour+, and, is first come, first served). However, if this is not possible, and, you need the Speed-O-Tachs service techs to disassemble the dash cluster from your vehicle, the charge is then generally an extra $85 dollars to do so, PLUS, of course, the charge for the actual calibration of your cluster. This more involved and time consuming service would require that you make an appointment to leave the vehicle.
Lastly, a final requirement of this facility for the GM dash cluster recalibration, is for you to bring in proof of your actual mileage (old dash cluster, service receipts, etc.). Therefore, the correct mileage is now, not only properly indicated on your dash cluster, but, you now also have a record (previous and current service receipts) that show a documented record of your vehicles' mileage. Hence, such important documentation supports the newly recalibrated cluster reading. Luke, this informative lead for proper service for your specific issue should prove most helpful. Feel free to keep in touch.

Best Wishes to You,
Eden
