been following a few posts on heat or sound proofing projects. for those that have comleted, what did you use on your C5, are you satisfied. Love the new bb exhaust but would like inside a little less noisy.
I'm no expert, but did have an audio guru dumb it down for me. Basically, there are various options out there, but remember that there is no such thing as good lightweight soundproofing. Forget light foamy sheets. It needs to be dense, limp (any shock is responded to slowly... means it doesn't take well to vibration... hence sound absorbing), and heavy stuff... thats what gets the job done. So the good dynamat type materials are pretty dense and hefty unfortunately... oh yeah, also helps to lower the resonant frequencies of whatever its stuck to, to below something that you can hear, just due to its extra mass. Good luck.

This is where I got a precut insulation kit, and partition, which has made a great improvement in road noise reduction as well as the console heat. It took the better part of a day to take out the interior and install the insulation. And not having to measure and cut was a whole lot faster. It did make a noticeable difference, made the wife happy, and I can still hear the Z06 exhaust just fine.
