All it does is open the fuel door? For $129, I would hope that it could incorporate some of the other features.

I have the Top Down Window Valet, and I love it. But another $129 to open just the fuel door...... no thanks! JMHO, of course!

Not worth the 129.00 to me. Not that hard to flick the switch as far as I'm concerned.

Stu, I hear ya brother. I went through the same thing on the new key FOB thread. Some serious tightwads here.

This mod looks interesting, everytime I get out of the car to fuel her up I have to lean back in and hit the button to release the fuel door. Ya think the Corporals engineers could have found a better spot for that button.

Thanks for the link!

Interesting product. Too bad it isn't just a part of the window valet.

Let's do some math. I fill my car up every 3 weeks, or about 17 times a year. $129/17 = $7.58 per use for the first year of ownership. Of course the longer you own it the lower the operating cost. While I have a Window Valet and love it, I'll have to take a pass on this.

Hello Brother

...you have radar for the threads that cost you money

...the same argument was offered against the $149 for the window valet... ...a bunch of people bought for $127 in my GP...

Ive been wanting this for some time and I will probably go for it...
...for the ease of not having to get in and out of StuzVette!

For those who think its too much to pay for the FOB to open the door only means they arent forgetful like you and me

Im getting older not younger...so Im getting one while I can still remember to buy it

That would be cool but the installation under the console reveals a complication in doing that...
...Im just glad it is possible...

I think there is another thread by a guy that has moved the button to a more convenient location...
...thats not a bad idea if the button is where the deck lid button is near the window... that would work and probably for less money...

DIGMO posted the thread of moving the button...no details yet...
...wait a minute found the thread...
Click here for the other idea of moving the fuel door release

....hmmmm

you guyz shouldn't complain about that price (for the Valet). I bought the Valets grand-father; called the "Window Commander". It had to be installed in each door (both doors - panel removal required) and cost $210

for $150 and such installation ease... the Valet is a steal.

I like this product, If they incorporated both into one unit, I may be interested. It would also cut down on production costs for the casing and could give added savings to us Corvette owners

Did the remote fuel door mod when I shaved the door handles. Used one of the channels in the new remote module to operate the fuel door along with the doors. It does come in handy

What new remote module did you get? Part of the door actuator kit or stand alone?

Yes. I'm thinking about future mods even though I have 4-6 months of fiberglass work left on the stereo and flares.

Wow, the Corvette Tax at its best

Instead of the $127.00 for this, another thread shows that a $2.00 Radio Shack switch works (at least it allows the opening of the fuel door without opening the console.

Regardless of the 'bling' TTT offers via this product - I (who mods EVERYTHING) would never consider it.

I have the window valet and love it. Would be nice to get an "all-in-one" unit, but they connect different ways which I guess is why they are separate.

I'm sorry - I just don't think it's that difficult to pop the fuel door BEFORE you get out of the car!! Unless you have a fuel pump in your garage, you should never have to "lean back in" to open it. I can see if you're a new owner, but it only takes a few times to get used to it. The only "hassle" is if you ride with your top down alot and leave it locked. Even then, it takes all of 2 seconds after you pull your key from the ignition to open the console lid... I wouldn't buy this 'mod' for $29 much less $129. What's next - a pop opener for the glove box? An automatic seatbelt? An ejection seat for exiting the vehicle without opening the door? How bout a fueling cone that extends and retracts so we can just drive up to Corvette-only mid-flight refueling trucks without ever stopping or exiting the car...
