Unlock your Radio
I recently changed the 02 Z06 battery. Of course, the radio went to lock. I went to the Tech Tip section to https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=25&TopicID=1 and it worked perfect.

Yep, the Forum is great. Dealership tech pulled the code from the radio with his scan tool...and it did not work! I popped out the fuse to put the radio into lock mode, used the Forum formula and telephone number, and put in my own code. 
Interestingly, the service manager said about a fourth of Chevy radios come from the factory with a security code already set. Suppose some assembly line worker has too much time on his hands?

The DTC code erasing is very important but the C5 Radio Unlock fix might work better for the radio.
