.. stupid tire ..

fyi: no runflats..thankfully those would have been expensive.

was coming around a corner (follow diagram below) when lady came from her turning lane (#2) i guess her light was green and she came from her turning lane into lane #1 instead of using her #2 lane. During this time I was in my turning lane (turning lane #1) and was coming onto lane #1 like i was supposted.

Ended up hitting the brakes pulling to the right nailing the curb with my rear tire .. so i check my tire guages and figure eh they've still got pressure guess it was just a hard hit .. no biggie. Keep driving get maybe three to four miles down the road and i hear a pop .. i've heard this pop before .. the last time my tire popped ( )

cruise it to my college which was maybe ~ a 1/2 mile @ like 20 mph pull in .. assess the damage and yep .. hole the size of a quarter in the sidewall .. all i can think is SMF .. so i call the company and he had to "look everywhere for them" apparently 285/45ZR18 is a weird size ..

*sigh* .. things just seem to happen at the worst possible times.

edit: oh and i forgot to mention .. i've been waiting for a towtruck since about 1:45 and it's now 3:15 .. this day just keeps getting better.

 

that sucks man, isnt that the wrong size for a corvette though for the tire? as far as the tallness of the sidewall, that seems awefully tall

naw .. stock is 275/45YR18 on the rears.

 

The rears are actually 40.

 

...front P245/45ZR17

rear P275/40ZR18

 

They didnt come from the factory with a 45 series tireon the rear.. I can guarantee this...

 

That's too bad no matter what size the tire is.

 

Dont mean to continue raining on your parade, but that is the worse diagram I've ever seen! j/k man! Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but hope your day gets much better soon. If you were near by, I'd buy you a cold one or twenty!

Yes .. it was my mistake, it isn't 45 on the rears it's 40. I was in a rush and lost my mind

..so I just spent 6 hours waiting for a towtruck

.. my college has two (three actually) campuses .. one north from here in bradenton, fl and mine, the one that's in venice,fl and even though I gave them the correct address they sent the truck to the bradenton campus 50 miles away!! ..

.. so i spent 4 1/2 hrs waiting outside for a towtruck with periodic calls to AAA asking them wtf is up before the truck driver that was assigned to my call called my cell and started telling me how he couldnt find my car (as he is describing the other campus) ...

this has been a bad bad day .. ultimately it could have been worse but still .. i missed 1/4 of my first day in one of my classes (great impression on new teacher) .. had to wait (in the rain) .. got stranded at school .. and worst of all .. my car looks sad.

boy, when i hit that curb, I hit it hard.

how about a shipping address instead?
