Need Help with price!
), but I'm not sure about the price, I'd appreciate getting everyones opinion... Here's the deal; The Good..
1999 blue coupe with 60,000 miles. A4, has both tops, HUD, sports seats, dual air, and CD.
Verified two owner car, has a clean car fax. Have service records from the dealership back to the original purchase. Currently owned by a nice guy, that drives it easy, selling to buy a C6.
Has had the steering lock modification done, new catalytic converter (1year), new RS window regulator, had the idler pulley replaced. Had the exhaust manifold replaced/repaired,alternator replaced, and the rear end sealed.Replaced outside air temp sensor.
Has new non-RF Goodyears on the front.
Painted targa top is good.No evidence of water in the car. Seat tracks are solid, no rocking. All oil was Mobil One.
The so-so;
the rear tires are RF Goodyears at 30%,
the brakes are at 10% left (F), and 30% (R) with the rotors turned once at 19,000 miles.
Clear targa top is peeling, hood has had cosmetic damage and been repainted.
Seat bolster worn, not ripped, rest of the interior good.
Last alignment done at 34,000 miles.
Original suspension.Engine completely stock.
The radio does not get AM.
The bad;
It will cost me about a grand to go get it.
Needs the 60,000 service.
The owner is asking 19,500 for it, Is this a good deal? or what kind of number makes sense based on the so-so stuff and the bad?
Fire away, I've got a Guinness opened up and ready to listen!

Consumer Rated Condition: Fair
"Fair" condition means that the vehicle has some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. This vehicle has a clean title history , the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. The tires may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage.
Private Party Value $16,810
Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.
Consumer Rated Condition: Good
"Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. This vehicle has a clean title history , the paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. There should be little or no rust on this vehicle. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left. A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category.
Private Party Value $18,285

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Look at it this way...
You can put the Tires you WANT on it.
You can put bigger and cool looking Cross drilled and slotted rotors on it.
You can do something "sick" to the hood or top if you want, or just have them re-painted... whatever...
What else was there?? Minor stuff, right?
Having the service records is nice and since the rest checks out clean...
Remember, you are buying a USED car... Unless you buy car off of a car lot and it has a GUARANTEE, (or it's brand new) it is ALWAYS a risk... if the deal you get is worth the risk you want to take, do it...
If not, there's more where that one came from... Keep looking...
Only you can purchase a car for yourself!! (OK, OK, that's sort of like Smokey the Bear.. Only you can prevent forest fires!)
Lol...
Do what's right for you!!!
PS., do the brakes yourself.. He'll skimp and only do the minimum... and go for $17,500!! Why not?
