...I had to take the toothpics off ......The car was almost one year old before I got tired of waxing them......After the surgery, the side angle lines look better to me. It's a personal thing so, do what ever suits your eye........

As each possible new vette would be found, I'd check the photo, and it was the first thing I looked for. BSM? Move along, nothing to see here.
....They only take about 30 minutes to remove with some fishing line and WD-40. The silver C-5 in your post looks great but, I hope others won't pass up a good deal just because of some easily removed side trim.......
...I sprayed them down in a hot Houston garage with WD-40 and drank a cold beer. Then I cut a wooden ruler in half and tied some 40LB fishing line between them. I re-sprayed the BSM's with WD-40 and had another beer. Now your ready to start sawing. Get the line between the body and BSM and start sawing up and down to remove the sealant. Take your time and work your way down the side. When your done with that you'll need another beer. The thumb rub is next. You will have some residue left on the car. Spray it down and rub it off with your thumb. It takes a little time but, it won't scratch the finish. When your done with that, a little Meguires scratch X and some quick shine and your on your way. To finish the job off, pop another cold one and enjoy the view.........
I like the sans BSM look, but they do protect from dings, so I'm torn between removing them and keeping them. Thoughts?
Get rid of them .I'd rather look at a ding than them.Easy to get off with a heat gun.Just get them warm and pull. You can get away with using a hair dryer.Be patient.A little buff and wax and you'll never know they were there.
