Default BSM - Remove them or keep them?

I like the sans BSM look, but they do protect from dings, so I'm torn between removing them and keeping them. Thoughts?

I removed mine, went to the dyno, and lost 100ft lbs of torque. I didn't lose HP like many would think, I found it only effected the torque numbers.

Ditchem. As many have indicated, your so low most door dings would bypass them anyway.

Pull 'em off. Don't park in door ding zones.

I think removing them really helped the look of my car.

Keep them, never know what the paint looks like under the BSMs. Not worth the hassle. I like them on IMHO

While searching for my vette, I eliminated any with BSM as a future cost of removing them.

As each possible new vette would be found, I'd check the photo, and it was the first thing I looked for. BSM? Move along, nothing to see here.

I just dont care for them---they break up the smooth body lines that make the C5 so kewl.

Ha, funny, cuz I was just the opposite.. No BSM=keep looking.. BSM= interested...

I like them..

Its purely your decision, its like asking if you should get chrome or painted rims... its purely opinion.. if you like=get, if not=dont get...

....They only take about 30 minutes to remove with some fishing line and WD-40. The silver C-5 in your post looks great but, I hope others won't pass up a good deal just because of some easily removed side trim.......

I re-sprayed the BSM's with WD-40 and had another beer. Now your ready to start sawing. Get the line between the body and BSM and start sawing up and down to remove the sealant. Take your time and work your way down the side. When your done with that you'll need another beer. The thumb rub is next. You will have some residue left on the car. Spray it down and rub it off with your thumb. It takes a little time but, it won't scratch the finish. When your done with that, a little Meguires scratch X and some quick shine and your on your way. To finish the job off, pop another cold one and enjoy the view.........

Get rid of them .I'd rather look at a ding than them.Easy to get off with a heat gun.Just get them warm and pull. You can get away with using a hair dryer.Be patient.A little buff and wax and you'll never know they were there.

I like the look of them.

They seem to help an otherwise flat zone. Even the CF poster car right above has 'em

And I'm sure this topic will generate absolutely no discussion whatsoever.
