I get the message "RIGHT REAR TIRE FLAT" when I first start up the car after its been sitting for a while. The message will go away after about a half mile. I've checked the PSI and it is okay. This message only comes up after the car has been sitting for a while and has progressed from only every once in a while to very often. I retrained the tire sensors but still the same issue. I called dealer and spoke with a service adviser and he said could be a sensor in which case would run me 300-400 dollars, but more likely to be BCM which would run me a few thousand dollars, and I would need to leave the car with them to analyze. Any suggestions before I take the car to the dealer?

I would bet it's the sensor. I believe there is a relay in the fuse box near your battery. It wouldn't hurt to remove it and see what codes (if any) you throw; this might actually just disable the TP monitor circuit, just a guess. I counted 7 relays with the same part number in there on my 97...you could switch them around and see what happens. Switch it with the one for the parking lights...wouldn't hurt anything. Then see if you get different codes...poorman's way of diagnosing
Take it to a tire shop, and they will have to break the bead on the tire, at least halfway dismount the tire, replace the sensor, remount your tire. You should be good for around $100, and you already know how to retrain your sensors.
