i do not get this whole vertical door gig. on autotrader in this area, there is a c5 for sale with vertical doors------------although fairly competitively priced, the car has been posted for months & does not seem to move. obviously somebody spent some hard-earned moolah on a mod that they are never going to recoup. bub

I think that the vertical doors can be done tastfully. Billy182 has them and his vette looks absolutely superb. In, general though I dont like the lambo doors. It is definitely not a good idea if you plan on selling the car in the future.

Billy182 car is nice. I have seen it at ECS and then we have cruised together. His doors seem to fit right and boy is his car fast. I think he has over 700rwhp....

Here is a picture of one that I looked at up at National Corvette Homecoming this year. It is not for me but I thought it looked very nice. WCC sells a kit that does not require any mods to the car, it uses the same mounting holes as the original door hinges.

Here is a shot I took

Personally, I think it's a cool mod and Billy182's car looks sweet. But due to the cost of the mod, it's way down my to-do list.

Unless the doors go completely vertical it's got to be a lot harder to get in and out of the car. most of the kits I have seen are like that. You'd have to lean way back or crouch down and slide in.

It's already tricky enough to get in a Vette without either hitting your head or sliding across the seat bolsters and reducing the life of them.

Default Lambo

Alot of ricers call the doors lambo short for Lamborghini, so searching lambo doors corvette turned up a bunch of pictures on google. if you want to find rice you gotta think like a ricer. Its your money do what you want and if you do, let us know how it turns out for you.

If you put the "LAMBO" doors on your Vette, you will dominate the show and shine shows !!

Most guys don't like the lambo doors but I think it would make your car stand out. They aren't very practical but do get a lot of attention. I think they look sweet, but wouldn't spend that kind of money to do them.

Let me know if you find a good deal on it. I know one company (vertical Doors) that'll sell their heavy duty C5 kit for under $1100.

Doesn't look like they open up far enough.. seems the door is blocking the majority of the opening to get in and out.

If your going to do it do it right. Get the GT Factory kit that will go straight up and down. It is the best kit out there with two 150lb gas shocks per door so it won't sway in the wind like the other will.

http://www.tunerracing.com/product.i...vette%2000&b=* This is the page to get them for 2G.

http://www.tunerracing.com/morepics.icc?prodnum=69,464 These are pics of them installed on Corvettes.
