Practice is the main thing. You just want to slowly release the clutch while giving it just a little gas. Now this is on flat ground. If you were to be at a stop on a steep hill you'd have to be a little quicker with each to keep from rolling backwards. It's really not hard, just like anything else you just need to do it several times. Kinda like learning to whistle, once you get it you realize how easy it is. Just find yourself a empty parking lot and get some practice, I bet you have it down before you leave.

If you are careful, you can actually let the clutch out while the motor is just idling. Actually the Vette is not that hard a car to learn to shift on. It really is a balance between the clutch foot and the gas. Most folks make the mistake of giving it too much gas or letting the clutch out too fast.
As I mentioned, on level ground you should be able to slowly let the clutch out while the motor is idling. Try it in a parking lot...if you can get the hang of it then adding a little throttle later will be a lot easier. The key is letting the clutch out slowly. If you do it too fast you will kill the motor.
